How to Use Your Nx Witness CCTV System
Your CCTV system runs on Nx Witness β a professional security platform that allows you to view live cameras, review past
footage, and export video when needed.
This guide walks you through everything in a clear, simple way.
π 1. Logging In
You can access your system in three ways:
β’ π₯ On the recording server (NVR) connected to your screens
β’ π» On a desktop or laptop application
β’ π± On the mobile app (iPhone or Android)
How to Log In
1. Open the Nx Witness application
2. Enter your username and password
3. Select your site/system name
4. Click Login
If youβre unsure of your login details, contact AVX via WhatsApp.
π 2. Viewing Live Cameras
When you log in, youβll see your camera layout.
π’ Green dot = Camera is online
β« Grey icon = Camera may be offline
Make a Camera Full Screen
β’ Double-click the camera
β’ Double-click again to return to grid view
You can also scroll your mouse wheel to digitally zoom in.
βͺ 3. Playing Back Recorded Footage
Need to check something that happened earlier? Use the timeline.
Method 1 β Timeline Search
1. Click on a camera
2. Move your mouse to the bottom of the screen
3. The timeline bar will appear
4. Drag left to go back in time
5. Press Play
Coloured marks on the timeline show recorded activity.
Method 2 β Calendar Search
1. Right-click the camera
2. Select Show Calendar
3. Choose the date
4. Use the timeline to find the time
You can increase playback speed if needed.
πΎ 4. Exporting Video (Saving Footage)
If police or management require footage:
1. Find the video in playback mode
2. Click and drag across the timeline to highlight the section
3. Right-click and select Export Video
4. Choose:
β’ MP4 (most common format)
β’ Nx format (for official investigations)
5. Save to USB or secure location
β Always check the exported file plays correctly before sending it.
π± 5. Using the Mobile App
With the mobile app, you can:
β View live cameras
β Review recorded footage
β Receive motion alerts (if enabled)
Log in with your normal details and select your site.
